Abstract: Health care facilities should have solid evacuation and shelter-in-place plans for patients and staff. Whether planned or unplanned, emergent or urgent, evacuation of a pediatric healthcare facility can have profound ramifications on patient safety and the continuity of operations for an institution. This presentation will discuss some considerations for creating a workplan for emergency evacuation of a pediatric healthcare facility accounting for general and critical care patients including the neonatal unit.
