Gender affirmation surgery and the younger patient

Abstract

Transgender people, often called trans people (or even simply ‘trans’) are a diverse population of individuals who experience a degree of gender incongruence which is a disparity between the personal sense of their own gender (= gender identity) and the sex they were assigned at birth (= birth assigned sex) (1,2).
